About us

Carmen Trepat is the founder of Rumba Retail, where she works closely with a team of expert collaborators within the global Retail and Real Estate sectors.

Carmen initially made her mark on the retail industry when she presented two of Spain’s largest retail groups – Inditex and Mango – to  Simon Property Group and then Vice President of Leasing, Jim Napoli, and together they opened the first Zara and Mango stores in the US.

Since then, Carmen’s passion and dedication to the Retail sector has been evident in her work with some of the world’s largest brands in their global expansions as well as the development of their employees.  She has also collaborated with top Commercial/Shopping Centers globally as an integral member of their leadership teams delivering these projects on both a national and international scale.

Carmen has also been an active collaborator with the Human Resources Department of ESADE Business School in Barcelona for the last 18 years.  She is often sought-after as a participant in round tables, and is frequently invited to speak at conferences internationally.

Carmen views her passion for Retail as one of her defining traits.
